Taconic Biosciences, located in the Gateway Industrial Park, will receive a $50,000 Economic Development Income Tax (EDIT) Grant for a new expansion project. The company plans to invest $6.5 million to construct a new barrier building as well as purchase new equipment, furniture and fixtures. In addition, the company will offer advanced certification training to new and existing employees as well as safety training. As a result of the project, the company plans to create 18 new full-time jobs by the end of 2023. The EDIT request was approved by the EDC of Wayne County Board of Directors  at their November board meeting and will be taken under consideration by the Wayne County Commissioners.
