New Machinery will Allow Primex Design and Fabrication to Expand Product Line

Primex Design and Fabrication, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Primex Plastics Corporation is investing $1.3 million in a new digital printer to enhance their product line and expand their customer base. The company will receive a $20,000 Economic Development Income Tax (EDIT) Grant from the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Wayne County, Indiana. They can use the EDIT funds towards the purchase of new equipment and/or to provide training for new and incumbent employees.

Doug Borgsdorf, Business Director for Primex Plastics, says when reviewing their options to expand into the digital print market they kept coming back to their home base of Richmond. “We have a group of employees that embrace technology and these EDIT funds will go directly to the training and development of our great team to ensure a sustainable future for our community.”  The company plans on creating 6 new full-time jobs at an average hourly wage of $17 and retaining 12 full-time jobs at an average hourly wage of $20.

Primex Design and Fabrication, located at 400 Industrial Parkway in Richmond, is a manufacturer and designer of reusable protective packaging, handling, and shipping products made from various materials. The request for EDIT funds will now go before the Wayne County Commissioners for their consideration.
